Abercrombie (02/12/2001) This little domed building adds a nice touch to the plaza. I am a sucker for any detail which adds dimension to a scene. It is a welcome change from the pure block structure of most malls.

New Construction (02/12/2001) They are still adding to the south end of the mall.
Barnes & Noble (02/25/2002) People gathered on the stairs in the main Gateway Plaza. The mall was built around the old Union Pacific depot on 300 West.
Lakota (02/25/2002) Across the street from the Gateway Plaza, this building used to house the Lakota club. The upper stories are a condo. The architecture is somewhat interesting in that it exposes the structural cement and iron framework of the structure.
Gateway Mall (03/01/2003) The Gateway Mall is at the terminus of Trax. The Virgin Megastore now occupies the old Union Pacific Building.
The Gateway Plaza is a new mixed use shopping district on the west end of Salt Lake. The plaza was built by the Boyer Company and was opened just prior to the 2002 Olympics and continues to draw crowds to downtown Salt Lake City.

Saint Patrick s Day Parade
(97 pictures) The 2003 Salt Lake City Saint Patrick's Day Parade was held in the Gateway Plaza. This was a great idea, since it created two levels of viewing area for the the Parade.
