Bitterroot Fire (08/06/2000) This famous public domain photo was taken by John McColgan on 8/6/2000 from the Bridge on U93 over the East Fork of the Bitterroot near Sula. The site PublicSafe.net has a copy of the higher resolution image.
Perrine Memorial Bridge (03/10/2002) The first Perrine Memorial Bridge was open in 1927. It towered 475 feet above the Snake River Canyon, and was the highest bridge in existence at the time. The old bridge was replaced in 1974 with this new two lane bridge.
Carmen Idaho (04/25/2002) This small post office serves to the argricultural valley of Carmen.
Hamilton Bridge (06/03/2002) The Hamilton Bridge on the North Side of Town over the Bitterroot River. Like too many towns, Hamilton does not take advantage of its river front property. This is one of the few places where visitors get to see the river.
Highway 93 winds its way from Arizona, through Nevada, Idaho and Montana, and finally into Canada. Much of the route is marked as a scenic byway and provides some spectacular views Mount Borah in Idaho and the Mission Mountains in Western Montana.
