The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens is a new 15 acre park that is revitalizing the Colorado River front in Grand Junction. The gardens are built on land reclaimed from a salvage yard.
The greenhouse and butterfly house contain an interesting selection of exotic species, while the outside grounds preserve various native species of plants. The park is on the Grand Junction bike paths, and house the Discovery Greenhouse Castle and the Pomrenke Children's Library.
