Tannus Fail (2022-07-20) My rims turned into this abstract art work when I hit the edge of a gutter today.
Tannus Airless Tire (2022-07-03) I bought and installed Tannus Airless tires on my bike. Click the image to go to Amazon.com
Tannus Box (2022-07-03) This box held two tannus tires. I bought from TannusAmerica.com. Click the image to go to Amazon.com.
Inner Boxes (2022-07-03) The outer Tannus box held these two inner boxes. I suspect that they are used to selling two tires at a time.
Tannus Pins (2022-07-03) The kit included a variety of pins for installation. My bike needed the purple pin on the left side of the page. I put them between two prismacolor sticks for contrast.
Boxed Tire (2022-07-03) This is the way the tire appeared in the box.
Purple Pin (2022-07-03) The little purple pin was the perfect size for my rim. My 700x32 tire used 40 pins.
Tire Unwrapped (2022-07-03) This is the tire unboxed. The installation video suggests that leaving the tire in the sun for a half hour would help it loosen. The ECO FACT claims that 10,000,000,000 tons of bike tires are scapped a year. So, recycle.
Tannus Tool and Pins (2022-07-03) This image shows the Tannus tool, which comes in the box, and the pins being installed. My tire had 40 holes. The instructions suggest placing all the pins, then pushing them in like the one on the left.
Tire Comparison (2022-07-03) My old tire said it was 700x38c. The Tannus is 700x32c, but looks bigger. My old tire was in bad shape. I wish that I purchased the 700x25 tires.
Tire / Rim Comparison (2022-07-03) The diameter of the tire is slightly smaller than the rim. One has to stretch the tire to fit the rim. It takes super human strength. It took me 4 hours to get the first tire on and 2 to get the second one on.
My Installation Solution (2022-07-03) I spent several hours trying to get the tires installed. For the first tire, I set several pins in place and was able to finish the install with two pry bars. The second one I used two clamps and three pry bars.
Tires Fully Installed (2022-07-03) These are my tires fully installed. It took about six hours. I recommend buying them for a local store. Click picture to go to Amazon.com
The Bump (2022-07-20) This is the bump that took out my Tannus Tire. I rode diagonally from the upper left to lower right. There is a little ledge in the asphalt. Mountain bike tires are supposed to handle this type of stuff.
Abstract Art (2022-07-20) I was thinking about hanging the bent rim in an art gallery as it has an intriguing shape.
Figure Eight (2022-07-20) This picture shows the figure eight form of the tire.

Here's the deal. Someone stole my bike pump and the bag holding my patch kit. I ended up working out of state for a few years and put the bike in storage. When I finally got the bike out the tires were worn with age and popped.
I had to buy a pump, tires, tubes and a patch kit; So I decided to seek out some solid (aka airless tires) and decided to try Tannus.
