I believe strongly in supporting local businesses; However, I released one day that I've never stayed in any of the local hotels.

The only time I stay in a hotel is when I travel. Go figure?

I suspect that most people have the same experience. Since we don't use the local hotels all that often, we start seeing hotels as a strange foreign aberration in town.

The idea that hotels are strange places filled with foreign lead many communities to heap excessive sales and property taxes on hotel properties.

However, in my travels, I realized that hotels play one of the most vital roles in the community. They provide a place for visitors to stay. Hotels often serve as conference centers and are the focal point of local hospitality.

The goal of the Community Color project is to show important features of local communities. I created this side gallery to show local hotels.
