The Duchesne River is one of the primary drainages in North Eastern Utah. The river starts in the remote High Uintas and flows South. The river turns east near Duschesne, Utah and flows into the Green just above Desolation Canyon.
In 1952, the Duschesne Tunnel was completed. This water project diverts water from the Duschesne River is diverted into the Provo River basin.
