Just Desserts

I have a confession. I have never been a fan of food coloring. I was asked to take some pictures at a child's birthday party, and the pictures of the kids surrounding a neon orange came out quite well.

So, I decided to hold back my opinion of food coloring and let kids choose whatever cake they desire. On the bright side, I've discovered that may bakers these days paint on the coloring with a glaze. A colored glaze works a little bit like a good filter and adds greater depth to a cake than one with coloring mixed into the frosting.
