On July 29, 2006, I attended the Wasatch Wildflower Festival in the Albion Basin in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The Albion Basin sits just above Alta Ski resort.
The event included a shuttle and guided tour of the flowers of the area along with music and materials to help identify plants.
The gallery for this hike includes a number of flowers we encountered on this short walk. It is amazing that the area is covered with flowers while the Salt Lake valley blisters in the heat of the summer.
