Solanaceae is a family of flowering plants which includes a variety of species that range from the deadly poisonous nightshade to the useful potato, chilipepper, and eggplant. Additional species include the tomato, mandrake, paprika and one of the leading causes of death in the modern world: tobacco.
On the ornamental side, the family includes the petunia and datura (aka Jimson Weed or the Moonflower).
