This gallery shows images the Lost River Range from US93 in Central Idaho. The range includes many of the tallest peaks in Idaho including Mount Borah.
Mount Borah is Idaho's highest peak (12,662 feet). In 1983, a 7.3 richter scale earthquake shook the Lost River Range. During the earthquake, Mount Borah rose an estimated 15 feet , and the valley below dropped 15 feet. The trip from the base to top of the mountain is reported as a vigorous 10 hours (I assume this means 16 hours for normal people.) There is a treacherous ice field on chicken out ridge before the summit. So you might need an ice axe and ropes to make it to the summit.
